Job Description

Are you a talented Web Developer looking for an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful government innovation? We are seeking a Web Developer to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Data Center Leads, IT Managers, Business and Application teams to establish application development best practices and standards, process baselines, and software configuration management and control. You will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites, ensuring they meet client specifications, are visually appealing, user-friendly, and easy to navigate. Key Responsibilities: Develop the scope for the application development process and governance function, setting milestones for the roadmap. Evaluate and consolidate best practices from various sources, working with stakeholders to establish and govern design and development policies. Maintain an inventory of approved technology and tools, defining processes for updates and retiring outdated software. Coach and mentor team members to ensure adherence to defined standards and policies. Periodically review and measure compliance to standards from all team members and vendors. Participate in the evaluation and selection of new software development tools. Plan and deliver software platforms used across multiple products and organizational units. Perform web design and production tasks using various tools and programming languages. Create and optimize Section-508 compliant images and PDFs for the web. Deploy new sites, ensuring compliance with templates and QA reviews. Keep up-to-date on Section-508 accessibility requirements, perform cross-browser testing, and ensure web pages are compliant. Offer suggestions on information architecture, user experience, SEO, graphics, mobile optimization, and other web best practices. Review web site statistics to improve SEO and inform clients of site performance. Collaborate in web team meetings and cross-organizational workgroups, maintaining positive interoffice and client relations. Use MS Office Suite and relevant software for formatting and storage of files. Required Education, Experience, & Skills: Proficiency in Drupal, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, HTML5, CSS, CSS3, and Web Programming Skills. Strong teamwork and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and web user interface design (UI). Familiarity with security principles, object-oriented design, multimedia content development, and APIs.
