A Senior Security Engineer at Updox will be involved in planning, deploying, documenting, monitoring, and maintaining the layered security capabilities within our infrastructure and applications.

What you'll do...
- Help drive security standards and best practices
- Monitor network, infrastructure, and applications for security breaches or intrusions
- Advise and implement application, and infrastructure security strategy.
- Perform breach, threat, and vulnerability analysis
- Help drive user education on information security best practices
- Influence security budget and spending
- Conduct vulnerability scans of applications and networks
- Help with risk assessment and mitigation initiatives
- Deploy, configure, and monitor new security tools
- Evaluate security technologies and tools
- Troubleshoot and fix security infrastructure issues
- Work closely with the Architecture, Dev and DevOps team meet their needs while maintaining a secure architecture and environment.

What you'll bring...
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in Security Operations.
- Experience configuring and running vulnerability scans and reviewing vulnerability assessment reports.
- Familiarity with Linux
- Knowledge about exploits, vulnerabilities, network attacks, and threat intelligence
- Knowledge/understanding of well-known networking protocols, topologies and services
- Prior experience with IPS/IDS, SIEM, firewalls and proxies
- Ability to characterize and analyze network traffic to identify anomalous activity and potential threats to network resources (tcpdump, Wireshark, ngrep, etc.)
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- CompTIA Security + or equivalent is desired
- Strong knowledge of web applications and APIs desired
