Technical Product Manager
We are looking for a proactive, results-oriented Technical Product Manager to help grow and strengthen our platform to support our fast-paced growth in the local services market. The candidate will 1) identify and lead improvements to our customers’ online and offline experiences, and 2) lead design and implementation of new technical products and features.
Responsibilities
- Take business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and user stories
- Work with engineers to ensure product requirements are fully understood and technical concerns are addressed
- Aim to fully understand and appreciate our tech stack (with support from our engineers), and help drive prioritization of technical debt pay-off efforts
- Support project management and tracking efforts, help contribute to our Scrum processes, and encourage Lean assessment and experimentation strategies
- Study competitors’ products and services as well as emerging development and technology trends; make innovative product recommendations to the CTO and Product team
- Research, define, and analyze consumer and professional pain points and what value Zehitomo can provide; conduct customer surveys, make hypotheses, and validate with effective testing
- Provide training for new internal product features
- Take ownership of technical product backlog based on our company-wide product roadmap
- Apply product management skills as a facilitator and leader: identify and work closely with key contacts to guarantee project success, encourage highest quality communication among teams and team members, and empower high quality reporting
- Help ensure our platform quality always meets the highest quality standards expected of our Japanese users
Qualifications Required
- Business-level/JLPT N1 Japanese
- Business-level English
- 3+ years of experience working in end-to-end development of products
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in designing and building scalable products
- Strong experience in working with engineering teams in agile development environments, and project management
- Ability to contribute to the technical design of a feature considering a product’s performance, ability to scale, and its impact on the ability to innovate for customers in the future
- Past work experience as a developer a plus
