Why it matters: We're looking for a Scrum Lead who is passionate about coaching teams and evangelizing Agile Principles throughout our Axios Product and Engineering teams. The ideal Scrum Lead will have the experience and excitement to continuously improve the way we develop and deliver, with the flexibility to know how to help cater these principles to our environment and teams.
Go deeper: In this role, you will make an impact to Axios through the following responsibilities:
- Act as Scrum Lead for multiple teams, providing a learning environment to deliver business value
- Use agile metrics to find practical and deliberate means for teams to strengthen their planning, delivery, and strategic capacities
- Develop a deep understanding of our products and vision to help guide our teams
- Approach unblocking your teams and removing obstacles as a daily passion
- Challenge, coach, and guide the organization using agile and lean principles
- Emphasize code quality through small, focused user stories
- Assist teams with a hands-on servant-leader approach from inception to delivery of our work
- Use agile methods, in a flexible manner, that may include project planning, adapting to the specific needs of the organization (which can include hard deadlines/fixed dates at times), and creative problem solving
- Experiment with and integrate processes and tools that encourage continuous improvement
- Partner with Product folks to plan work efforts, dependencies across teams, and relevant ceremonies
- Develop creative retros to help teams self-actualize and mature
The details: Ideal candidates will embody an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios’ mission and have the following skills/experience:
- Deep experience as a Scrum Lead, or equivalent role, within a software engineering organization
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- Knowledge of Scrum, Lean, XP, Kanban, and other Agile development techniques
- Comfort with ticketing tools such as JIRA
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Strong emotional intelligence, personal savviness, and influencing skills
- Experience with large-scale application development
- Release management experience
