We are seeking a Lead Product Designer who is a dynamic, collaborative people manager, and has up to date hands-on design skills in UX design, UX research, and Visual design. At Synack, we develop products using the journey team method which provides a structure of tight collaboration between Design, Product and Engineering to produce results-based outcomes that delight our Customers. You will guide and coach the 10 person Synack Product Design team and evolve our product design standards & processes.
Responsibilities and Duties- Lead our Design team of 10 Product Designers, as a people manager, providing big picture design vision, as well as hands-on tactical guidance as needed
- Partner closely with the product, engineering, and executive teams to define the product roadmap and design strategy
- Coach in all aspects of design for cross-functional teams, including user research, UX design, visual design, and prototyping
- Use customer research as a guiding principle to drive our products, running discovery sessions directly with our customers
Here's what you'll need
- 8+ years of experience as an end-to-end product designer managing all phases of the workflow (research, ideation, concept creation, validation all the way through to hi-fidelity designs) while collaborating with multiple disciplines
- 3+ years leading a design team using collaborative principles and in alignment with Synack’s culture of Trust, Transparency, Inclusivity, Innovation, Accountability and Team
- A strong online portfolio available for submission at the application stage
- A love of coaching across all aspects of design, leading a project from conception through completion
- Proficiency with industry standard design tools (e.g. Figma) and capability and desire to roll up your sleeves to provide hands-on guidance to your team members when needed
