Position Summary:
Left Field Labs is seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to join our team. You will work alongside a group of dedicated and supportive programmers and designers, all focused on building and maintaining a complex software product used by one of the largest technology companies in the world. We count on our developers to write elegant and well-documented code, with a strict eye towards the separation of concerns, scalability, and maintainability.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and help translate these into technical requirements for the development team.
  • Planning and documenting technical specifications for features or system design.
  • Designing, building, and configuring applications to meet business process and application requirements.
  • Leading the development team in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of applications.
  • Writing testable, scalable, and efficient code and leading code reviews.
  • Mentoring junior team members and ensuring they adhere to software quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other developers, and designers to create new features and maintain responsive web front-ends running React/Typescript/Relay.
  • Debug development and production issues in stateful applications driven by dynamic data from a modular CMS through an API.
  • Work towards improving code quality, internal tools/processes, and documentation.

Requirements

  • Enjoy building web apps and UIs with dynamic content and modular components.
  • Are deeply knowledgeable and experienced in JavaScript and modern web standards like ES6, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Strong experience building with modern JavaScript frameworks, especially React and Typescript.
  • Strong backend technology experience in Golang, Python, Hack, or equivalent.
  • Deep knowledge of GraphQL / Relay.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of version control systems (Github).
  • Care deeply about the user experience, including performance and accessibility.
  • Pay strict attention to the details, with serious consideration for production systems.
  • Know how to independently debug a complicated problem, and do so regularly.
  • Are motivated to learn new things, and enjoy both teaching others and being taught.
  • Understand the importance of testing, and how to write good tests.
  • Value collaboration and code review to achieve results surpassing the individual.
  • Understand that every product/project requires an array of fields and talents, and respectful communication is a critical component in success.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
