LAAgencia is a Recruitment Partner with a focus on Startup companies and SMB. We're looking for a Data Analyst to join our client's team based in United States in a Remote job.
The Data Scientist is responsible for managing the master data set and developing respective reports/visualizations.
The ideal person for this position has an exceptional eye for detail, expertise as a data scientist, and a solid understanding of popular data analysis tools. He/she will work closely with product owners across various lines of business to understand the objectives of the organization and prioritize any requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Use data to inform and influence the direction of team goals and inform business decisions (40%) ○ Take ownership of key components, ensuring that they meet the needs of the business ○ Evangelizing evidence-based decision making by partnering with key decision-makers and driving general accessibility of data and insights. ○ Communicate results to senior management in verbal, visual, and written media
- Drive improvements in business outcomes by conduct hands on data mining and analysis to identify issues and improve operational processes (40%) ○ Work with internal stakeholders to ensure data integrity of daily reporting, automation, and customization. ○ Manage pieces of operational data workflow and look to improve them by providing a scalable solution
- Continually explore and iterate statistical models and features to advance our understanding of key underlying business drivers (20%) ○ Identify and drive improvements through standardization of process, authoring new best practices, and cultivation of new expertise. ○ Understand how to break down complex problems into the key components where data science and machine learning can be used to improve existing solutions
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Management or a related field
- 4 years of experience as a data scientist or in a related field
- Ability to understand business needs and relay them into easy to understand, non-technical language
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
Desired skills:
- Expertise in SQL and proven comfort and an intellectual curiosity for working with large sets of data
- Fluency in Python. Experience developing production software is a bonus.
- Ability to partner, collaborate, and communicate well with a diverse set of colleagues, both technical and non-technical, at all levels
