We are looking for an Intermediate Data Engineer to lead the design and maintenance of our data infrastructure. Data is one of the most important assets in Makeship as we are looking to be a data-driven company and we want data to exist in every aspect of the company. As a key member of our data team, you will be responsible for taking the lead on developing and architecting a scalable data infrastructure that will be used by all of our teams.

So, what will you do at Makeship as a Data Engineer?
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources
- Design, develop and maintain data integration pipelines for growing data sets
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to take requirements from prototype to production
- Build data validation testing frameworks to ensure high data quality and integrity
- Write and maintain documentation on data pipelines and schemas
This might be for you if…
- You have at least 4 years of relevant work experience.
- You have proven experience in building data systems
- You have a solid understanding of relational databases, best practices around data manipulation, data storage, and data visualization
- Strong analytical and data wrangling skills
- Experience with cloud native infrastructure (AWS)
- You excel in working with a team and can communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- You thrive in a fast-paced workplace; if you don’t have all the information or requirements available, you’re able to get them yourself.
Bonus points if you have....
- Experience with our technology stack (PostgreSQL, Kafka, AWS).
- Advanced skills in data scripting and database development technologies (SQL, Python, R)
- API expertise for Google Analytics, Facebook, Twitter, etc. is a plus
- Experience with building data pipelines and warehouses.
- Prior experience building and scaling ML solutions
- Worked with Shopify or Hubspot APIs.
- Worked in a startup or similar environment
- Love content creators and gaming
