Job Overview
We are looking for a full-time, creative front-end developer to join our dev team. In this role you will be responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining all of our platform’s web-based interfaces. You will curate the user experience for Locally’s shopper journeys, back-end portal, suite of embeddable tools, and responsive site. Your first major objective will be the creation and deployment of a new shopper-facing UX using React.
Responsibilities
- Using sketches or wireframes, develop new user-facing features
- Build reusable components by extending our SASS-based design system
- Achieve UI/UX objectives using web standards and a mobile-first approach
- Ensure design consistency across all user-facing touchpoints
- Collaborate with our lead staff to conceive UI/UX when planning projects
- Upgrade and evolve our design system, ensuring its continued value to the dev team
Skills and Qualifications
- 4+ years experience in developing front-end solutions for the web
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3
- Proficient understanding of Javascript; experience with React is a plus
- Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms (SASS)
- Basic understanding of server-side MVC templating techniques
- Ability to wireframe UIs and manipulate images, including SVGs (Sketch, etc)
- Ability to conceptualize UI/UX
- Some experience with web package managers and task runners (Webpack, Bower, Grunt, etc)
- Understanding of basic SEO principles
- Proficient in code versioning and branching (Git)
