Senior Digital/Web Project Manager

As a Senior Project Manager you will have day-to-day responsibility for supporting the smooth and effective delivery of any client or internal projects that you are responsible for, including site launches, online tools, web applications.

You’ll be a dedicated servant leader, supporting your delivery team, building rapport, facilitating continual improvement as together you work towards delivering optimal value for your clients.

About You

You’re a tech-savvy, pro-active professional with an in-depth understanding of the software development life-cycle in a web development context, you also have an appreciation for the ways that technology can help our clients achieve their business goals.

As a seasoned professional you are methodical and have excellent time management skills. You are adept at using your communication skills to facilitate and collaborate effectively with various teams too.

Creative problem solving, learning, growing, and building rapport with all those you work even while working remotely from them, are attributes of the work you get really excited about.

Ultimately, you should be able to manage and deliver our projects through their digital life cycle within quality, time and budget requirements. You should have a thorough understanding of the principles and processes of agile project management and its respective methodologies and be able to integrate with those adopted at Human Made.

Shaping your development team

  • Upholding teams delivering large, complex technology/web projects with significant budgets
  • Defining and maintaining a high performing team culture that facilitates a shared responsibility for successful delivery
  • Inspiring the team and clients on effective use of the principles and practice of the agile framework underscoring delivery
  • Engaging with contributors to help define and refine project scope, estimates, and resource requirements for projects
  • Prepare and facilitate workshops (either virtual or in-person) to establish project needs and relationships
  • Facilitating meetings to monitor project progress and resolve any issues the team may be experiencing
  • Remove impediments or coach the team to remove impediments
  • Assess the time and financial impact of scope change and communicate to stakeholders as appropriate

  • Developing creative and technical judgment and striving for high-quality output
  • Documenting progress and communicating to internal and external stakeholders
  • Conducting team reviews and retrospectives to promote continuous improvement

Building and Safeguarding Relationships

  • Being the hub of regular communication for the project, maintaining ongoing contact with internal and external stakeholders, and partners engaged in delivery
  • Building a partnership relationship with clients, having empathy and sensitivity to their pressures and understandings the workings and needs of the account you are partnered with
  • Developing and maintaining positive and functional relationships with the internal project teams, so that people want to work with you
  • Proactive in facing difficult conversations
  • Confident to mentor the team and encourage best practice

Accountability to Human Made

  • You are commercially aware understanding and recording the status of the budget of your projects and be able to report on them back to the company
  • You’re actively involved in allocation management of project needs in conjunction with regional teams and allocation manager

Requirements

Not everyone can hit the ground running as a remote Senior Web/Digital Project Manager. To be seriously considered for this role, please have the following in regard to:

Experience: At least 3 years experience in agencies delivering web applications using agile methodologies and associated frameworks and their application to different projects.

It will really help you if you have a broad understanding of web technologies such as HTML/HTML5, CSS, CMS, Javascript, content management systems, and version control, but we don’t expect you to be overly technical (but we won’t mind if you are!).

Education: You’re a Certified Scrum Master with up to date certification or equivalent agile training or experience.

Skills: You can show proven dexterity using a wide range of project management tools such as, issue tracking software, budget/time tracking tools with sufficient depth of knowledge to recommend the right tools for a project.

You are clear and direct in your written and verbal communications, and thrive on building rapport. You’ll be able to use those skills to facilitate conversations, meetings, and workshops that will meet client and team goals.

You are also adept at using your situational awareness skills to highlight risk and dysfunction, energised by finding and employing strategies to their resolution; testing and iterating in your efforts towards continuous improvement to meet your team’s delivery goals.

Characteristics: You are a dedicated servant leader, comfortable enough putting the team first, and strong enough to set boundaries with team and client alike.

Clients and internal team can attest that you communicate professionally, and personably, you are also flexible and adaptive to emergent client and project needs
