Who We Are
Vessel is an early-stage startup bringing wellness tracking into the home.
Wellness tracking often lacks accessibility. Even more frustrating is when products geared at helping us improve wellness lack clear action steps. Through our at-home urinalysis test card, users have the ability to track wellness metrics such as - Vitamins C, B7, Magnesium, Hydration, pH, and Cortisol.
Users then receive customized food and lifestyle recommendations based on their specific results. Our users can actually order food and customized multivitamins to navigate deficiencies and optimize their wellness.
We're still in the scrappy startup phase, and are looking for people who are comfortable with the fast pace. We're a mostly remote team. We value shipping epic products, having each other's back, doing things the right way, and always optimizing in our personal and professional lives.
Our product went live in late 2020 and we already have thousands of happy paying customers who are using Vessel to gain awareness on their personal metrics, make lifestyle adjustments, and see their wellness improve.

Mission/Purpose
We seek a highly skilled Senior iOS Engineer to join our Product Development team to help build new features for our core product. This role is primarily responsible for the development of iOS applications and their integration with back-end services. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for making an impact through pushing the limits of mobile, CV, ML, and Sensor technologies and will work alongside other engineers and data scientists to design the next generation of the app and SHIP EPIC!
Accountabilities
- Lead and Own iOS Products
- Work with Product Team To Design/Build Features
- Work with Backend Team to Design/Build API and Tech Specs
- Collaborate with stakeholders and implement necessary enhancements to the app
- Produce features on time with few bugs
Requirements
Skills
- Domain expert on iOS ecosystem
- Communication: Communicating timelines, changes, and blockers openly and quickly
- Architecture and design: Implementing best practices for contracts between mobile and back end
- Time/Priority mgt: Effectively manage your time in order to get features launched on time while supporting the team
What technical knowledge do you need to perform in your role?
Required
- Objective-C and Swift
- Camera Framework deep understanding
- Responsible for helping maintain code quality, organization, and automation
- Responsible for providing prototypes and proofs of concepts
- Use encryption tools to safeguard content
- Proficiency with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
Preferred
- TensorFlow Lite, CV, ML, AR/VR
- C and/or C++
- Firmware and drivers
- Understand Android Stack as well
Qualifications
Must Haves
- Design and build applications for iOS platforms
- Camera Framework deep understanding
- Ensure performance and quality of the application
- Collaborate with cross-functional team to define and design the app
- Perform checks on correct functionality of the app
- Integrate the application with backend tools such as cloud, APIs, and push notifications
- Responsible to help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
- Responsible for providing prototypes and proofs of concepts
- Use encryption tools to safeguard content
- Proficiency with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
- App on Apple Store with 4.6+ rating (minimum 5,000 reviews)
- Basic understanding of Android to be able to discuss which UX may or may not work Android
