Vice President of Finance

We are looking for a Vice President (VP) of Finance with heavy financial planning and analysis experience who can guide our organization through the journey from start-up to scale-up and beyond. Our ideal candidate has the requisite experience, skills, passion, and leadership capabilities necessary to drive rapid and profitable growth for Janus. As the leader of the Finance and Accounting Teams, the VP of Finance will provide all financial forecasting and modeling to support strategic decisions about our organization's future, as well as oversee the accounting function.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a financial advisor to the CEO and executive team for strategic planning purposes
- Oversee all sides of accounting operations, including payables, receivables, payroll, and tax preparation
- Enhance tracking methods for revenue and expenses
- Prepare timely and accurate analyses, summaries, and reports of financial data on the operating progress of the company
- Create a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting structure that includes a minimum cash threshold to meet operational needs
- Routinely review metrics to identify and address issues affecting overall performance proactively
- Manage the company's compliance with local and federal regulatory matters
- Partner with senior leaders to ensure the company hits financial targets
- Lead processes around budgeting, and review quarterly and annual budgets for all departments
- Develop and set financial KPIs; monitor progress towards business goals
- Report on financial status on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed
- Oversee financial audits and financial compliance
- Develop and mentor the Janus controller and other staff members
- Identify and elevate opportunities to improve financial reporting or practices
- Create methods to improve capital efficiency. Make decisions that support the goals of the business and improve its bottom line.
- Act with integrity at all times
- Entrepreneurial, Data-driven, Critical Thinker. Excellent prioritization, logical deduction, and organizational skills.
- Work experience as a VP of Finance or similar role at a growth-stage startup
- In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance and other regulatory matters
- Adept in fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and needs assessment
- Partner with the Chief Executive Officer to establish and track revenue goals
- Possess critical knowledge of federal and multiple state tax laws as well as basic accounting issues
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation
- Experience with cash management and risk assessment
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- MBA from a top-10 school preferred
- Innately embodies the Janus Cultural Tenets , including humility and collaboration
- Experience in healthcare a plus
- Ability to work remotely in the United States
