Job Description: News Writer - EAT THIS, NOT THAT!
Eat This, Not That! (ETNT)-the leading authority on food, nutrition, and health and one of the top three food publishers on the Internet-is looking for a talented, reliable, and motivated news writer to join our team full-time.
The ideal candidate is on the pulse of all things food and understands how to write enticing, engaging, and accurate headlines and news stories that will resonate with ETNT's national audience of 25 million monthly readers.
You should be able to spot breaking news quickly and stay on top of the latest developing stories surrounding national fast food, restaurant, and grocery chains; American food and dining culture; viral food trends; nutritional studies, and celebrity food news. You should be as comfortable writing a post about new Costco bakery items as you are doing a roundup of the worst things to order at McDonald's right now or covering the latest viral recipe or celebrity diet.
The news writer will be responsible for seeking out, pitching, and producing compelling story angles as well as accepting timely service assignments from our team of best-in-class editors. The ability to file clean and well-researched copy with speed, efficiency, voice, and accuracy is a must.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience covering news for a major digital publication, a working knowledge of AP style, a strong understanding of SEO, and experience with WordPress and traffic metrics (Google Analytics, Parse.ly).
Requirements:
Salary Range: $50K-$65K
