Summary Of The Role

The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for full lifecycle implementation and support of enterprise IT systems. The ideal candidate will come from a background in systems engineering and have extensive experience with both UNIX and Windows and maintaining those systems at enterprise scale while being well versed in physical asset management of items such as laptops and mobile devices.

LOCATION
100% Remote - Anywhere within the US.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, and implement full lifecycle solutions around enterprise IT systems not limited to but including:
• Endpoint and MDM for physical devices
• EDR/MDR
• Firewall/networking configuration
• Configuration management
• Identity and Access Management
• Disaster Recovery/Backup strategy around critical systems
• Provide operational support to other groups within the organization such as PeopleOps, Security, and Engineering not limited to but including the following:
• Onboarding/Offboarding
• Patch management
• Troubleshooting internal systems such as VPN
• Access Control
• Asset management
• Be able to articulate IT goals and strategy in both technical and non-technical terms to the key stakeholders as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and SRE teams to develop comprehensive IT strategies, frameworks, and documentation at an enterprise scale.
• Handle escalations from IT support analysts as needed.
• Maintain Active Directory or Group Policy or Azure AD Configurations and policies, developing company wide standards
• Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Create and maintain departmental documentation and create KB’s as necessary, system interdependencies and end-user documentation
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Intimate knowledge of enterprise IT systems such as:
• Active Directory / GPO / Domain Controller Configuration
• IDP Systems such as Okta
• ServiceNow
• Google Workspaces
• Office365
• Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Chef/Puppet/Ansible
• Have the enterprise level skills and awareness to understand proper change control, proper documentation and communication
• Extensive experience with physical networking and wifi hardware such as access points, camera systems, and hardware firewalls such as those from Sophos or Palo Alto.
• Extensive endpoint management experience with systems such as Intune / Jamf.
• Extensive automation/scripting language experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, etc.
• Experience working in the public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
