Position is 100% Remote
Pay: $70-75/hour on W2
12+ months contract
What you'll do: We are looking for a Lead Software Applications Engineer to join the digital platform ROAR, to build customer facing interactive web applications. You must see yourself as high energy and be someone who seeks out engagement with team members. You must be able to coach others as well as be open to receiving coaching. Highly collaborative environment, so working well with others is a must. The role requires a high level of responsibility coupled with a support structure necessary for development.
- Pursue strong engineering practices through a culture of continuous improvement
- Share in the vision of the product and drive team towards that vision
- Stay abreast of user feedback by attending and reviewing UX Research sessions
- Develop with the user in mind and have a clear understanding of what KBI we are targeting with each ticket
- Actively participate in discovery and experimentation sessions, working closely with other engineers and product team members to discover a strong solution
- Be at the forefront of evolving the way we work across teams and the company by incorporating design thinking, a multi-channel approach, and end to end collaboration
- Understand, advocate, and augment the platform principles, guidelines, and standards. Align with application development and ensure standards and quality are met
- Develop solution architecture designs aligned with the platform strategy
- Drive development, data, and security operational maturity of applications
- Ensure robust application health in production, and a positive customer experience
- Follow the principles of agile and focus on incremental delivery
- Assist with the talent acquisition by performing candidate screening for key technical roles
Requirements
- A passion for digital innovation and commitment to superb client experience
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science
- 8+ years of full-stack web development experience
- Familiarity with unit testing patterns (TDD/BDD) and methodologies
- Effective relationship builder--ability to partner cross-functionally, cross-enterprise and work effectively with various levels of the organization as well as various personality types
- Mastery of tools that contribute to creating enterprise web applications:
- HTML, Javascript, CSS, Angular 2+, bootstrap, backbone
- 3+ years with Angular (framework v2 and above) / State Management / Design Patterns
- .NET web and service development using C#
- Responsive design, single page apps
- Source control systems
- Web presentation models (such as MVC)
- Tuning and maximizing performance for high volume pages
- Experience with Agile and being a part of a scrum team
- Understanding of patterns and practice
- Can establish and lead application and platform architecture and designs and can effectively communicate complex architecture designs to others
- Ability to troubleshoot environmental issues
- Ability to conceptualize the best tactical approach for a team to deliver a project
- Ability to coach and mentor other engineers
- Ability to solve issues that are frontend/backend and can step back and understand the problem and single handedly are able to provide creative solutions
- CI/CD experience
- Ability to lead mature teams and be able to coach them into delivering innovative technology solutions
Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years experience developing and implementing systems in an enterprise environment
- Experience with Atlassian suite of products to include JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket & Bamboo
- DevOps, Full stack development with .Net, Angular, NGRX, Node
