Q.Digital is the media company that helps LGBTQ people get the most out of life. It reaches more than five million people each month through Queerty, LGBTQ Nation, INTO, and GayCities. As Queerty solidifies itself as the most popular and definitive entertainment site in its space, we are looking for a talented Editor to increase original reporting, the range of beats, and the number of unique voices representing queer life. We are also looking to expand our hours of coverage. The Queerty Editor reports to the Editor-in-chief to update the site with viral breaking news and evergreen features five days a week, writing and editing 3-6 stories per day and filling in for the EIC on occasion. The ability to cover afternoons and some evenings under deadline pressure are essential as well as the ability to schedule robust weekend coverage and newsletters in advance.
This editor also helps coordinate the Queerty daily newsletter and social media posting. You'll develop Q&As, SEO pots, lists, analytical articles, rounds-ups, breaking news, and other features.
You'll also contribute to sponsored content and assist with company-wide brainstorming, offsite meetings, and company tentpole events and platforms. Q.Digital is based in San Francisco, but most of the 28-person teamwork across the U.S. and in Europe. This location job allows you to work from home while coordinating closely with the Queerty edit team and supervising a growing group of contributors via Slack.
