Yardbarker is seeking talented Freelance Entertainment writers to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to write for a leading site with significant distribution on third party platforms. You will be expected to write compelling slideshows and lists about a variety of Entertainment topics and write them in an original, shareable, and SEO-friendly way. Writers must have a strong knowledge in at least one prominent Entertainment category (e.g., Movies, TV, Music, Celebrity, Video Games, Internet Culture). We work at a rapid pace and need someone who can work independently and write smartly and clearly about the assigned subject matters.
This is a paid, remote opportunity. Candidates will be compensated for their work on a per piece basis, based on the length of assignment and level of research required.
Here Are The Qualifications We’re Looking For
- You have written for a mainstream publication or website
- Deep interest and knowledge of at least one major entertainment topic, such as Movies, TV, Music, Celebrity, Video Games, or Internet Culture
- Strong judgment on what is interesting
- Writing skills that enable you to cover ongoing storylines in a clear, informative, and fun style
- Pleasant demeanor and ability to communicate with our editorial team
- Familiarity with SEO best practices
