TheFutureParty

is a community-based media brand at the intersection of business & culture. We produce micro-events and tailored content for our network of tastemakers and creators in entertainment, music, art, fashion, technology and business. We also have an email newsletter that reaches over 200,000 ambitious creative professionals every day.

Summary of Position:

We're looking for an experienced writer editor to join our growing editorial team at TheFutureParty. This is a key role and opportunity to get on the ground floor of an engaged and growing media brand. This role requires someone with exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. You will report directly to the Co-Founder and President of TheFutureParty and will be responsible for writing the daily newsletter, the heartbeat of our editorial practice.

You should have an expert command of English, grammar and use of tone and voice. You are a great storyteller who is culture obsessed and stellar at analyzing ideas then translating them with intelligence, wittiness, and insight.

Role Priorities:

• Source / Analyze: Work with an editor to select the pieces that will be written that day. Analyze the story to determine why this piece of content is important for our audience. Use data and insights to develop, create, and implement a vision for what will be written that day. Work with the illustrator for what images we should leverage in the newsletter.
• Write: Write a daily newsletter that consists of several stories from the world of entertainment and business. Our main stories are 200-300 words, with additional highlights of trending topics around the internet. Ensure delivery and high quality of the daily newsletter, making sure our content adheres to TheFutureParty's writer's guide and tone.
• Deliver: Input content in our email software in order to be delivered to our newsletter subscribers. Input necessary information like "subject lines, time of sending, images" etc to prepare the newsletter for sending.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience professional experience creative copywriting, copy editing, editing, writing, or content marketing.
• Experience working with reporters and editors
• Exceptional copy editing skills
• Make sure stories are logically structured.
• The candidate should have an ability to write well and edit content for clarity, concision and engagement while adhering to established guidelines.
• Understand user behavior and trends.
• Continually improve copy writing standards, ensuring high quality, checked against performance goals and milestones.
• Verify factual correctness of information, such as dates and statistics
• Ability to manage multiple projects on a tight deadline
• Experience with online publishing and organizational tools
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Requirements:

• We are remote flexible but the ideal candidate is based in the U.S
  
  

Salary Estimation:

• $35-40/hour
