Job Purpose

The Data Lead serves as an analytics expert and uses data and experiments to develop insights that will directly influence the product roadmap. They are a strong cross-functional team player who is flexible and enjoys working collaboratively in fast-paced environments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Grow our data culture by mentoring team members on data practices and analytical approaches,  building and communicating a long-term- data strategic vision, and creating data-specific team priorities.
  • Support product teams with opportunity analysis, understanding feature impact, advice on new metrics and goals, and ensuring visibility into product usage and performance.
  • Keep our data ecosystem healthy by managing our data tech stack, and data infrastructure, and building instrumentation patterns and standards.
  • Communicate data insights and patterns throughout the company, ensuring everyone has deep insight into our customers and business, and that Dooly team members have the information they need to be great at their jobs.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years relevant experience in analytics, preferably in product-led Saas companies
  • 2+ years of hands-on expertise with statistical analysis and modeling techniques such as causal analysis, forecasting, hypothesis testing, feature impact analysis, anomaly detection, and survival analysis.
  • 2+ years of data, machine learning, or analytics engineering with an understanding of data modeling techniques, evented data architectures, and DAGs
  • Deep understanding of statistics, including Bayesian analysis.
  • Preferably, but not necessarily has experience with a scripting language like Python or R
  • Strong experience building out dashboards in Looker (or similar) to help run the business
  • Experience building metric frameworks to understand user behaviors
  • Strong ability to use experimentation (A/B testing) and statistical/predictive analysis to guide decision making
  • Strong track record of working with cross-functional teams to accomplish objectives and achieve highly impactful results
  • Understanding of wider context and the business case behind questions and uses creative methods to drive results
  • Bonus points for prior management or leadership experience
