Because is a female-founded , VC-backed ecommerce enablement startup that started in Boston and is growing in Tampa (+ 9 other cities) Last year, we raised our $3.1M Seed Round this spring led by Harlem Capital, Stage 2 Capital, and investors from Shopify, Uber, Gillette, and Toast. Now that we're entering the next phase of growth for Because, we're looking for key team members to join our marketing team, help us nail product-market-fit, and delight our customers. ️
What does Because do?
We're an ecommerce software platform built on top of Shopify that helps small online merchants grow their conversion rate by 10-50%. We help them do this through a no-code solution to add dynamic text-based content across their site at scale. Think Amazon skills, but for the average ecommerce store. Cool, we know.
High level about the position
Welcome to the exciting world of content writing! As a part-time content writer, your role is to create compelling and engaging content that captures the attention of our audience and keeps them coming back for more. Your main responsibilities will include writing blog posts, social media content, newsletters, email campaigns, and other forms of content that are relevant to our audience. You will work closely with our Head of Marketing to understand our brand voice and tone and create content that aligns with our values and goals.
As a content writer, you will need to have a passion for storytelling, a creative mindset, and excellent writing skills. You should be able to write in a way that is both informative, entertaining, and have a deep understanding of your target audience. You should also be comfortable with research and be able to gather information from a variety of sources to create accurate and compelling content.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with a team of talented individuals. You will also have the flexibility to work remotely and on your own schedule, making this the perfect job for someone who enjoys a balance of work and personal life.

Must have (for this position)
- Writing experience for technology, SaaS, or equivalent (ecommerce experience is a plus).

- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to think fast and pivot since we're still searching for Product Market Fit
Nice to have (for this position)
- Experience working at an early stage startup less than 100 people
- First hand experience working at an ecommerce enablement company and or strong understanding or ecommerce
- Understanding of Marketing (to understand our customer)
- Experience in technology (if none, you must be able to demonstrate your ability to learn FAST)

- Work with the Head of Marketing to accomplish the content pieces set in front of you.
- Proposed new ideas, content, and direction for writing projects
- Move fast. We're not afraid of you mixing your writing with Chat GPT.
