Summary
The Front-End Developer is a part of the Bank’s Technology Development Team and is responsible for the Bank’s user facing software development projects to meet the new stage of the Bank’s digitalization and automation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve external and internal user-facing features
- Integrate user-facing components with back-end services with emphasis on reliability and security
- Routinely test websites for ease of use, speed, security, and other quality factors
- Fixing any website issues or bugs that arise
- Design and build the best of class resilient solutions using universally accepted programming practices
- Abided by the Bank’s best programming practices, coding standards, and design patterns.
- Enforce development patterns and best practices through mentorship, code, and design reviews
- Willingness to learn and pick up new technologies when requested
- Work on a complex technical development, prototypes/proof of concepts under the direction of CTO and the VP of Enterprise Application & Automation Enablement
- Closely work with the VP of Enterprise Application & Automation Enablement, and the Director of Project Management to influence the product roadmap for building new features and functionality based on market trends and help the platform stay competitive in the market
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field, or significant equivalent experience
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
- Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
- Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript fundamental concepts, methodologies, best practices, and coding conventions
- Proficient understanding of integration user interface with backend components, eg.: directly to a database, or through REST or SOAP API over HTTP
- Proficient understanding of testing frameworks and automated tests
- Strong understanding of Git and CI/CD pipelines ecosystem
- Familiarity with databases, and AWS cloud services such as S3, CloudWatch, or Lambda
- Familiarity with observability tools and techniques such as distributed tracing, structured logging, and gathering metrics
- Familiarity with Java and Python back-end services
- Familiarity with database designs and querying
- Strong oral and written communication skills with a preference for team-based work
- A desire to work with and contribute to an energetic and engaged team of technology
- Detail-oriented, even when faced with multiple deadlines on multiple projects
- An interest in continuous learning and experimenting in the benefit of delivering value to users
