Location: Fully Remote (Must work PST Hours)

Description:

The Payroll Process Manager in CFA is an individual contributor position responsible for supporting and managing payroll processes and systems to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with federal, state and Social Security regulations, and the Company's compensation and benefit structure. This position will manage relationships and processes to support delivery of payroll processing, lead ad hoc projects and provide information and recommendations for decision-making. In addition, this position will perform research, develop, and implement new and existing procedures and lead continuous improvement projects. It is crucial to be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders and to clearly document analysis, conclusions, and deliverables.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.

• Experience: 5-7 years payroll, federal, state, and local payroll taxation, and accounting experience or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Experience working in payroll, payroll tax or related compliance functions, including supervisory experience, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Strong PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and experience with large ERP systems required.

• Experience in a rapidly changing environment and comfortable proposing, justifying, initiating, and implementing change.

• Experience analyzing complex transactions, processes or policies and documenting conclusion in memorandums or ad hoc deliverables. Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and operate effectively in ambiguous situations.

• Demonstrated ability to oversee and handle multiple projects, competing priorities and deliverables including project management.

• Demonstrated ability to develop influential and collaborative relationships across teams, functions, and cultures.

• Demonstrated ability to express ideas clearly and persuasively in oral, written, and presentation forms.

Job Duties:

Process Management (50%)

• Coordinates the tasks and processes and collaborates with key stakeholders to successfully complete payroll processing and related payroll tax deliverables.

• Responsible for maintaining, developing, and implementing payroll policies and processes.

• Support review of payroll work products, such as payroll audits, journals, certifications, and other work completed by payroll team members, including the authority to sign off for initial review and approval in satisfaction of control requirements as needed.

• Communicate conclusions and interpretations to key stakeholders across the division including internal customers, partners, and upper-level management.

• Create and present learning materials for cross-functional knowledge sharing sessions.

• Support performance management of third-party payroll providers and/or sourcing partners; create and monitor SLA adherence; operational issue resolution and escalation; general oversight of performance and process improvements.

• Research complex payroll and payroll tax issues and document conclusions based on formal research.

• Provide technical guidance regarding the reporting requirements related to newly enacted and proposed legislation and/or regulatory changes.

• Support internal and external audits and provide information, records and documentation as needed.

Continuous Improvement (50%)

• Support the development of Lean Management Systems and performance measurement models, techniques, systems, and tools that enables the monitoring of the payroll valuestream performance health.

• Support continuous improvement for the payroll team through the use of performance metrics and data, and optimize processes to ensure quality, effectiveness, and delivery of customer value.

• Work cross functionally within CFA and across functional divisions and business units to target potential improvement areas, and design and implement more efficient and effective processes and systems.

Compensation is tied to the Colorado and Washington markets for jobs performed in Colorado and Washington. Other locations may be subject to variances based on location-related factors.
