Linux Service Manager

Summary / Role Purpose

The Linux Service Managereffectively influences and facilitates the participation of stakeholders. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, staffing and controlling the people, processes, procedures, information services, projects and other company assets that are deployed in support of a specific Information Technology function (Linux). The Linux Service Manager will set goals and conduct performance reviews for staff annually.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all the IT service within ANSYS related to Linux technology
  • Provide Linux based service and project delivery to the stakeholders
  • Responsible for IT Projects related to technology that impacts teams globally
  • Manage project teams to meet project deliverables
  • Work closely with IT and Business leaders to assess the technical feasibility, cost and resource requirements for proposed business initiatives and IT projects
  • Lead, collaborate and influence business leaders to devise or modify processes and procedures to achieve desired results
  • Monitor and ensure customer satisfaction for IT support and deliverables
  • Partner and collaborate with Senior IT and Business leaders
  • Manage technical, administrative and supervisory staff for IT function; set goals and conduct performance reviews for direct reports
  • Presentation/ interaction with Senior IT and Business leaders

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • A minimum of 10 Years of IT Experience, demonstrating increased levels of responsibility
  • 3 years of leadership experience, setting priorities and driving results
  • 3 years of experience leading or participating in cross functional projects and teams
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Ability to work with peers and influence people to accomplish goals
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent English skills, both written and verbal, and understanding multi-country, region culture environment

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science preferred
  • Experience with Red Hat, Ansible (or other automation tool), and ServiceNow (or other CMDB tool)
  • Core Competencies include: Team Building, Planning, Negotiating, Drive for Results and Organization
  • The ANSYS Infrastructure team members are located in Asia, Europe and North America area, therefore it is preferred to understand multi culture working environment and understand the different cultures and business requirements
  • Experience developing SOX procedures and ensuring compliance preferred
  • Understanding Linux HPC environment is preferred. ANSYS has over 10K CPU HPC cluster environment
  • The presentation skill (Speaking, Documentation) is key factor to success because the system rollout for our customers
