Company Overview
At CiteRight, we're solving the problems that keep lawyers up at night — literally. Our growing startup is building a first-of-its kind platform that lets legal teams share and reuse their legal research, and transform paper processes into seamless digital ones. CiteRight is used by Canada’s largest law firms to help their lawyers see the big picture, work faster, and go home early — and with a recent funding round in hand, we're putting the pieces in place to expand internationally. This is a chance to bring the legal profession into the digital age, ship a product to paying users who can’t live without it, and help write the playbook for the next billion-dollar vertical.

About The Role
As our team’s dedicated UX Designer, you’ll play a critical role in defining, communicating, and executing mission-critical designs based on CiteRight’s product vision and strategy. You’ll work directly with our leadership, engineering, product, sales, and support teams — as well as with current users — to define, implement, and improve our products in ways that support our company’s strategy and goals.

To succeed in this role, you should be empathic, a great communicator, and have great initiative. If you’ve got strong user-centered sensibilities and proven experience designing compelling products that address significant customer needs, on time and with great quality, we want to hear from you.

Your impact

As the UX Designer at CiteRight, your key activities will be:

  • Designing user interfaces for digital products and websites that meet user needs, business goals, and technical requirements.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, developers, and subject matter experts to create intuitive and user-friendly designs.
  • Conducting user research to understand user needs, preferences, and behaviors to inform design decisions.
  • Developing wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs to communicate design concepts to stakeholders and development teams.
  • Translating designs into HTML and CSS code that is functional, efficient, and scalable.
  • Ensuring that design standards and best practices are followed, and user experience is consistent across all digital platforms.
  • Conducting usability testing and analyzing user feedback to continuously improve designs and user experiences.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in UX design, web development, and user research.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and other web development technologies.
  • Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of UX design principles and best practices.
  • Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to design innovative solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • A strong portfolio of previous work showcasing UX design skills, web development, and user research experience.

  • Competitive salary and benefits package. This role has a salary range of $90-120k, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive group benefits package that includes life, health, dental, vision, and drug insurance.
At CiteRight we believe that the people who work here are the foundation of our success. We genuinely care about diversity.
