Summary: Seeking a professional technical writer who can lead the development of policies, standards, procedures and training content with an emphasis on Information Security and coordination with the governance document owner.
Job Responsibilities: The main functions of a technical writer in Information Security will be to write and edit technical documentations such as policies, standards, processes, and procedures, as well as develop and update Learning Management System (LMS) training courses and assist the Program Manager with the coordination of projects and programs.
Organize materials and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology. Maintain records of artifacts and artifact revisions. Facilitate document reviews with stakeholders and confer with staff to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication. Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the artifacts convey the intended message. Provide documents and associated materials in a variety of media.
Facilitate the review with stakeholders and the updating of governance documents including policies, standards, procedures, guidelines and supporting documentation. Track governance document development, review schedules, stakeholder input and timely publishing of the document.
Work with stakeholders to develop LMS Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) training packages. This includes collecting and editing content, developing graphics, integrating audio overlays, developing quiz questions, organizing reviews, incorporating comments, testing the SCORM package with subject matter experts, working with FINRA's LMS team to publish the SCORM package, and addressing users' questions or comments.
The technical writer will also assist the Program Manager with project and engagement coordination. Identify and escalate issues and risks to the Program Manager that will impact project timeline, scope, quality, or financials. Monitor tickets, tasks, and follow-ups in a ticketing system to drive resolution with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bonus: Familiarity with Cyber and Information Security, COBIT Framework, FISMA compliance processes, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tools such as ServiceNow; cloud technology, experience with Miro, Atlassian Suite (JIRA/Wiki).
