The newly formed Watts Digital team spearheads the development of cutting-edge customer-facing solutions within Watts in coordination with business units, focusing on delivering actionable and trusted insights to customers through intuitive solutions that continuously evolve to meet ever-changing user needs.

The Senior Product Designer works closely with product owners, engineers, our users and Watts leadership to craft experiences across our platforms and products. You will focus on the commercial segment, with the option to expand into residential at a later stage. You will draw on their knowledge of the UX lifecycle (research, concepting, iterative design, testing) to help define and create innovative design solutions that address user needs and Watt’s commercial business goals. The Senior Product Designer has experience in managing multiple projects through the entire product lifecycle and proactively managing deliverables and expectations. You will engage in effective dialog with the engineering team to ensure design intent is delivered consistently. Lastly, you will drive our commercial design and user experience as we look to overhaul our customer’s digital experience.

You Will

  • Create elegant, intuitive, and easy to use experiences for web & mobile applications
  • Lead and leverage user research, usability testing and any other robust testing techniques to drive design decisions
  • Inspire multi-disciplinary team members with clear communication, hands-on contribution, and strong advocacy for best practices in Experience Design
  • Communicate design strategy to product owners, clients, developers and other team members, while also being able to articulate design rationale
  • Convey team intent with compelling usage of personas, user-journeys, and other storytelling frameworks into high-value solutions
  • Implement a cross-discipline perspective that balances user frictions and needs with brand, business goals and technical feasibility
  • Develop presentations, storyboards, and client feedback mechanisms to communicate design process
  • Convey brand voice and shape the product experience by crafting UI copy that helps users complete the task at hand
  • Mentor junior members of the design team to elevate their craft and professional presence
  • Create style guides, templates, and other accelerant frameworks for the design team
  • Manage design deliverables with Agile product management techniques
  • Identify and collect exemplars and articulate their design logic, benefits and trade-offs
  • Develop lists of prioritized concepts, information architecture, and content strategy leveraging design thinking
  • Iterate wireframes based on feedback from internal reviews and user
  • Construct interactive prototypes that displays UX/UI: functional with modern effects, animations, and transitions as appropriate, that present a realistic feel of the intended experience
  • Partner with engineering to ensure designs are properly implemented
You Have
  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in interaction design, HCI, or other relevant design field required
  • 5+ years of experience a Graphic Designer, UX Designer, Design Lead, or equivalent in a start-up environment and exposure to cross-discipline teams, preferably building SaaS applications.
  • Mastery of visual and prototyping tools such as Figma and emergent UX tools
  • Expertise in building interactive prototypes to illustrate your own UX & UI design for web sites and mobile apps
  • Experience with data visualization: designing both the experiences & graphical interfaces to ensure customer insights are surfaced intuitively
  • Hands-on position designing user experience from conception to minimum viable products to large scale launch & adoption
  • Experience designing SaaS applications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively deliver a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • A background working directly with developers for the implementation of designs
  • Excellent people management skills and ability to fully drive design workstream
  • The ability to think big whilst being detail oriented and delivery focused
  • Open to criticism from your team to benefit project development
  • A portfolio that showcases not only what you’ve shipped, but the impact it had
  • Experience with Information Architecture design and systems thinking
  • The ability to deal with pressure within a fast-paced environment
  • A ready portfolio, preferably online
