ABOUT THE ROLE:

It’s the Year of the Customer at Cube, and as our first-ever Cube customer-centric Technical Writer, you’ll be the first addition to our growing Customer Education team whose sole focus is delivering joyful learning experiences that drive customer empowerment and increase engagement.

Become the go-to Cube subject matter expert and use your deep customer empathy—and relationships with different teams —to craft impactful content for our community of Cubers. You’ll take ownership of our newly launched Knowledge Base, own product documentation from end to end, and collaborate with subject matter experts and the go-to-market team to ensure high-quality content is market ready for all of our audiences.

This role is right for you if you have experience breaking down complex topics into simple, easy-to-understand content. This role reports to our Manager of Customer Enablement, who’s built and grown Customer Education departments at three successfully acquired companies. She cares deeply about the customer experience and is looking for a partner excited to grow their career as a technical writer and fuel the customer education strategy in a fast-growing industry.

HOW YOU’LL RAMP:

By Day 30:

  • Develop a strong sense of our product, industry thought leadership, and the FP&A world through our courses on WorkRamp, an internal knowledge repository on Notion, and live with Cube team members.
  • Get a lay of the land and build rapport with your go-to-market and content teams through 1-1s and group meetings.
  • Audit our Knowledge Base content and performance using tools like Google Analytics and Zendesk to find areas of opportunity and improvement.
  • Get hands-on experience by partnering with Product Marketing and P&E on tier 3 & 4 GTM product releases and asset management.

By Day 60:

  • Become a close partner with Product & Engineering, Customer Success, and Product Marketing to develop and maintain a process for managing all product-related technical literature.
  • Roll out your Knowledge Base content improvement plan to increase our self-service score using your new structured processes, standards, and templates to improve existing and new Cube product content.
  • Partnered with the Manager of Customer Education to create 45 customer artifacts by the end of the second month.

By Day 90:

  • Create a content roadmap to help prioritize and report back on content requested by stakeholders.
  • Measure and report on the success of your content and its impact on driving self-serve through the Knowledge Base.
  • Take complete ownership of our GTM documentation process and Knowledge Base Management.

WHAT YOU’VE ACCOMPLISHED... SO FAR:

  • Planning documentation in conjunction with product release cycles. You’re familiar with working with engineers, product managers, and designers to learn about a feature from specifications, user research, and, most importantly, through your hands-on experimentation with the product. As a result, you know how to plan and deliver 30+ pieces of consumable content per quarter, which averages 80%+ consumption rates.
  • Partnered with Support and created targeted content that enables users to self-solve challenges that attract the greatest # of tickets, reducing customer questions by 75%.
  • Writing quality long-form technical guides, white papers, eLearning scripts, video scripts, and product tour videos that engage and delight customers that increase product usage by 20% on average.
  • Increasing the MoM return visitor percentage through regular audits and improvement of the Knowledge Base.
  • Managing projects independently and following the quarterly content calendar while adhering to team/brand content guidelines.
  • Becoming the go-to voice of the customer for all Product related items and providing feedback on website product descriptions, in-product copy, product release notes, etc.

The base salary range for this role is: $122,706 - $176,389 USD, this role also has a variable tied to it.

  • Your past achievements and scope of ownership/influence that you expressed in your interview process.
  • The stage of our company. We’re early in the growth of our organization, and we place a heavy earnings potential on our equity.
  • Your current location. The fact is, it costs more for the basics in some places than others, and we adjust accordingly for that.
  • These ranges are posted for US employees only.
  • Only base salaries are posted. For commission-based roles, please inquire with your recruiter during your first call.
