If so, Clover Leaf Solutions is searching for an entry-level Web Content Specialist to drive the future of multimedia web content at one of the world’s most prestigious and innovative multidisciplinary research institutions. Join the Multimedia Production (CEA-MP) group of Web Content Specialists at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) to inform, engage, and inspire LANL’s external audience.
As a Web Content Specialist, you will collaborate with Designers, Developers, and Communications Specialists to plan, develop, and produce high-quality webpages. You will interact with stakeholders and subject matter experts to format, edit, and publish new and updated website content.
The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, proactive, and a problem-solver, capable of delivering top-level customer service in a fast-paced environment. Submission of a digital content sample, portfolio, and/or applicable work materials is highly suggested
What will make you a good candidate?
Beginner proficiency in the web communication field.
General understanding of written, visual, and interactive communication, with a focus on digital communication channels such as the web, social media, and email.
Beginner proficiency in copyediting or web-related writing and various writing styles.
Beginner proficiency in visual and interactive design as it relates to digital content creation, and the software used to do so.
Ability to translate complex, technical, and jargonized content into a format appropriate for the web.
Ability to organize content into sitemaps to support campaign and UX objectives.
Understanding of digital communication standards, guidelines, and best practices, especially as they relate to UX, SEO, and accessibility.
Ability to follow standards, best practices and demonstrate good judgment when implementing web content. Provide unparalleled customer service.
Experience developing, formatting, and publishing web content in a web authoring software or Content Management System (CMS).
Experience working with a WYSIWYG to input formatted text as HTML or Markdown and the ability to edit HTML/Markdown directly.
Experience using tools and methods for information architecture activities such as creating sitemaps.
Experience using tools and methods for collaborative communication and project management.
Experience using tools and methods for receiving new and updated web content, and taking feedback from customers.
Experience collecting metrics from analytics software (e.g. Google Analytics, etc). Demonstrated ability to gather and interpret usage data for the purpose of user testing, measuring success, and reporting to stakeholders.
What will make you stand out?
Skilled in industry-relevant design and illustration software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
Has an understanding of photography and design and can make adjustments to photos and graphics ensuring they are the right quality, dimensions, and format for web use.
Ability to do manipulation and conversion on files, such as converting file types, optimizing PDFs, and making PDFs meet accessibility requirements.
Understanding of search engines to optimize front matter and metadata.
Experience with accessibility requirements such as Section 508 Compliance and accessibility tools (e.g., Siteimprove).
Experience creating engaging and shareable digital content.
