Vitalant is currently seeking a Sr. Director of Digital Marketing to lead the creation and implementation of a system-wide approach to digital outreach with an emphasis on mission-driven donor engagement, standardization, efficiency and thecreation of a new donor environment. The position is broadly responsible for utilizing digital tools to enablethe system to achieve overall collection targets, with direct responsibility for achieving targets for digitally scheduled appointments and units.
This position can work remotely anywhere within the United States.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides effective leadership to achieve high levels of service and product quality, financial results, and other criteria in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives.
Hires, supervises, mentors, trains, develops, and evaluates performance of assigned staff. Identifies and effectively resolves employee issues.
Leverage technology, leads the development and execution of marketing and communication plans and recruitment initiatives for blood services optimizing donor acquisition and retention.
Works with IT colleagues to develop a system-wide strategy and leverage technology solutions to maximize recruitment, customer and employee engagement.
Establishes plans, in coordination with other executives, that ensures that there is sufficient product in inventory, including holiday collections, to meet the contractualneeds of all customers.
Ensures quality systems comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices, regulatory, industry, and Vitlant standards.
Participates in the annual budget preparation, ensuring adherence to approved department budget.
Remains abreast of changes and developments in the blood banking industry related to regulations and standards and provides direction to implement required changes.
Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships.
Work collaboratively with other channels (direct mail, calling, broadcast voicemail, etc.) to maximize omnichannel marketing.
Is responsible for the following channels – Email, Text, SEO, Website, SEM, other paid digital, Chat, App and Social Media, among others – and to maximize appointments from those channels. Responsible for hitting digital appointment and unit targets.
Plan and monitor the ongoing company presence on social media (Twitter, Facebook etc.)
Launch optimized online advertisements through Google Adwords, Facebook, etc. to increase donations as well as company awareness.
Be actively involved in SEO efforts (keyword, image optimization, etc.). Provide creative ideas for content marketing and update website consistently.
Prepare online newsletters and promotional emails and organize their distribution through various channels; responsible for maximizing email channel.
Measure performance of digital marketing efforts using a variety of Web analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.).
Acquire insight in online marketing trends and keep strategies up-to-date.
Maintain partnerships with media agencies and vendors, in coordination with other marketing team members.
Requirements
Knowledge/ Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Master’s degree preferred.
Knowledge of large system operations management including fiscal policies, human resource management and strategic planning required.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations that affect business operationsrequired
Experience
Ten years of related experience required. To include:
Six years senior management experience.
Proven experience as Digital Marketing Executive or similar role required.
Skills/Abilities
Must possess the skills, experience and abilities to successfully perform all assignedduties and responsibilities.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must have analytical, statistical, personal organization, and problem solving skills.
Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.
Effective oral and written business communication skills.
Must have a participative management style, strong team development, coaching skills,and the ability to lead and motivate senior and executive-level managers.
Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active member ofmanagement.
Must have proficient computer skills.
Excellent understanding of digital marketing concepts and best practices.
Experience with B2C social media, Google Adwords and email campaigns and SEO/SEM.
Outstanding knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, etc.)
Skills and experience in creative content writing or overseeing creative content writing.
Ability to travel (20+%).
