About the Role:
We’re looking for a Senior Graphic Designer with 5-7 years of experience working within a creative design agency, brand, or studio team to oversee design across our podcasts, events, website, company branding, and to collaborate with the creative team to craft compelling stories.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the branding and design of a fast-paced, growing startup.
We want to find the best person for the role regardless of where you are located. This role is open for candidates who are working remote as well as candidates who prefer to work from our New York City office.
What You’ll Do:
- Design visual brand identities for new and existing shows in the Blockworks podcast network, including cover art, typography, and thumbnail design
- Craft motion graphics and animations for product launches, promotional content, brand, and event collateral
- Create editorial art, style guides, and templates to accompany the articles, breaking news, research reports, and newsletters written by our editorial staff
- Design marketing materials to help grow our audience and sell products
- Build presentation decks for pitches and sales materials
- Support our conferences with event branding and signage
- Get to know the Blockworks audience to understand key points in their journey and uncover insights that will stimulate engagement
- 5-7 years of experience working within a creative design agency, brand, or studio
- Passion for storytelling and creating outstanding content
- A strong grasp of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Figma, and relevant industry standards for both print and digital delivery
- A willingness to learn about crypto communities and their cultural preferences
- Experience creating motion graphics and animations
- Advanced understanding of typography, grid, layout, and color
- A deep comprehension of market trends and how to capitalize on them
- Strong and professional communication & task management skills
- Experience working in UI/UX design is a plus
