Position Summary

We are looking for a talented communicator to take charge of technical communications! You are driven to capture complex concepts with clarity. You listen, ask questions, research, and seek to understand the true needs and objectives of your audience. You have a sharp eye for detail. As a Technical Writer, your role involves tasks like writing conceptual overviews, training materials, and procedures, building and maintaining terminology, and participating in UX discussions. Agility (scrum) will be part of your daily life. You will work within the product team; a passionate group constantly seeking to push the envelope creatively and to ensure prospective customers know who we are.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the product and marketing team to create conceptual material for internal and external audiences like sales tools, brochures, product overviews, product specifications, training syllabuses, and standard offer letters.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and the product team to write procedural content for end-users and system administrators.
  • Contribute to product development by contributing to UI and UX design.
  • Define the scope and content of the documentation based on the SME and product manager’s input.
  • Collaborate with the UX team to establish UX guidance.
  • Review user interface terminology to ensure consistency and clarity.
  • Advise on improving or reusing existing content.
  • Proofread and edit content written by others on the product and marketing team.


Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, or similar.
  • Strong grammar and proofing experience.
  • Experience designing and writing content using XML (DITA is a major bonus)
  • Experience in document editing, formatting, and quality control.
  • Organized, efficient, self-motivated.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player.
  • Ability to approach work strategically
  • Experience working with a creative partner(s)
  • Portfolio of work is desired for consideration


Studies & Languages

  • Experience designing and writing content using DITA content management systems
  • Enterprise-class B2B product experience, such as CRM, ERP, CMS
  • UX design
  • Issue tracking and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence
  • Broadcast and Internet delivery technologies
  • XSLT, XSL-FO, OT, HTML, and CSS
  • Tech Comms content development and production tools
  • Localization and internationalization of technical communications and software/hardware UIs
  • Bilingual (English, French)
