Position Summary:
We are looking to hire a talented, eager, and skilled remote Junior Developer to join our team. As a Junior Developer, you will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to the development of our innovative software solutions. The ideal candidate should have a fundamental understanding of PHP, Docker, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), and MongoDB. Additionally, exposure to Agile methodologies, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and Scrum practices will be considered a plus.
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the development team to assist in designing, coding, and testing software applications.
- Gain hands-on experience with PHP and implement basic features and functionalities under the guidance of mid/senior developers.
- Learn about Docker and its role in modern application deployment and management.
- Assist in integrating and managing MongoDB databases for data storage and retrieval.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning and daily stand-ups, to understand project workflow and contribute to discussions.
- Learn the importance of Test-Driven Development and write simple unit tests to validate code functionality.
- Contribute to code reviews by providing feedback and making suggested improvements.
- Work on debugging and troubleshooting software issues to enhance problem-solving skills.
- Testing other developers’ functionality
The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of PHP 5.4+ experience
- 1-3 years of experience with Symfony or similar fundamental frameworks
- Solid OOP fundamentals
- Exposure to Agile, test-driven, and Scrum development methodologies.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages, including PHP, and a passion for web development.
- Familiarity with fundamental concepts of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Exposure to databases and an understanding of MongoDB will be a plus.
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git will be advantageous.
- Experience with Docker, Composer, Symfonry, MongoDB, and React is a plus
