Your Role
We are seeking a skilled Back-End Developer to join our team. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver high-quality software and enhance our AWS Infrastructure, supporting the growth of our websites and business. Our primary programming language is PHP, and we are looking for an individual with experience in PHP, as well as proficiency in platforms/tools/systems such as WordPress, Agile methodologies, AWS (including EC2, Lambda, RDS, CloudFront, S3, SES, etc.), Docker, Kubernetes, Google Tag Manager, Google Cloud, and Google APIs.
We anticipate that this role will involve a roughly 75% focus on back-end development and 25% on infrastructure-related tasks.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Improve website performance and structure (optimize PHP applications, streamline deployment, and monitor code performance).
- Manage hosting infrastructure on AWS, overseeing migrations and infrastructure enhancements.
- Implement performance monitoring systems and develop dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with the front-end team to implement new features on our websites.
- Support the data team in maintaining the infrastructure and propose innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in modern PHP, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Composer.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and refactoring techniques.
- Ability to manage a MySQL database.
- Experience with server management, preferably on AWS, or a willingness to learn about server and AWS infrastructure.
- A team player with a positive attitude, committed to finding reliable solutions that align with project requirements and constraints.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- (Bonus) Familiarity with Front-End technologies/software like ReactJS, gulp, webpack, and Bootstrap.
- (Bonus) Experience with Kotlin for collaborative work with our data analyst and data developer.
