Codeworks is an IT Services firm, known for our strong commitment to quality and for our direct client relationships.
Our client located in the Madison, WI area is looking for a Web Developer to join their team on a long-term contract basis. This role will work onsite in Madison, WI in a hybrid model.
This individual will become a member of the cross-functional Digital team and be responsible for maintaining and enhancing applications developed in house, customizing commercial off-the-shelf solutions, and refining related processes and procedures used across the agency.
This team has an immediate need to migrate web applications from one data center to another, this role will aid in that work. This position will play a crucial role in maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing our web applications. The primary focus will be on front-end development, ensuring that our websites are user-friendly, visually appealing, and responsive on multiple devices. The Web Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality user experiences across a range of technologies.
Other Responsibilities will include:
- Create and maintain visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly web interfaces for C# and .NET applications, WordPress websites, and PHP-based solutions.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement design mockups and wireframes, ensuring an optimal user experience.
- Ensure seamless functionality and appearance across different web browsers.
- Develop mobile-friendly web solutions, optimizing user experience on smartphones and tablets.
- Implement best practices for website performance, including page load times and overall speed.
- Website Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain web applications, resolving any front-end issues, and ensuring security and compatibility with backend changes.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and fix any front-end issues.
- Work closely with back-end developers, content creators, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent, cohesive, and effective web solutions.
- Website and application design and development, unit testing, design and code reviews
- Coordinate work of team members to write, test, and modify applications.
- Implement best practices and operational standards in support of core organizational functions
- Development of technical documentation and subsequent revisions
- Development of operational documentation and application training for personnel
The ideal candidate will have experience with the following:
- Strong expertise in front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
- Proficiency in C# and .NET.
- Experience with WordPress and PHP.
- Experience with automated testing and deployment frameworks (CI/CD)
- Experience working in legacy codebases.
- Experience working with SQL Server or other SQL RDBMS.
