What You’ll Be Helping Achieve
You will provide necessary services to support software applications developed and maintained by the Department of Transportation. You will leverage Agile best practices with a strong attention to customer service throughout this transition and system support.
What You’ll Be Working On:
- Support existing applications using .NET
- Assess current application implementations, document present state, and note discrepancies with existing documentation
- Maintain existing applications to meet all stated SLAs
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software using .NET elements used in client’s software stack
- Translate requirements from User Stories into valuable, working software
- Generate clear and maintainable documentation
- Contribute to the culture and continuous improvement of an Agile team
- Monitor monthly metrics to maintain system performance and identify trends that may require changes to the application.
- Support responses to data calls and ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
- May be expected to write documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
- Writes manuals for users to describe installation and operating procedures as needed.
How You’ll Excel In Your Role:
- Knowledge of DOT IT
- Excellent analytic skills to assess existing software implementations
- Working in an Agile environment
- Drive to improve existing software implementations
Required Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in information technology or business-related discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
- Must be willing and able to work EST hours
- 2+ years hands-on .NET Core (versions 3.0 or greater) development experience
- Experience with authorization and authentication
- Experience in development and implementation experience with the full life-cycle of implementations, including designing the overall application architectures artifacts and data model
- Experience with database technologies, team collaboration tools, e.g. JIRA, and deployment platforms, e.g. Jenkins or Git.
- Working knowledge of the software development life cycle in general and Agile specifically
