The Opportunity

4 month contract working remote from January to April 2024 (full-time)

We are a small but mighty team and need a Software Developer Co-op to complement our Pelmorex Data Solutions team as we continue to build new technologies and create ground-breaking business solutions. You will design, architect and develop cutting edge systems so we continue to be trend-setters and not trend-followers. The environment is fast-paced, fail-fast and collaborative. The team consists of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Developers who architect and deliver the solutions.

What Does Your Day To Day Look Like

  • You service client requests by writing complex queries and processes in Big Data systems.
  • You constantly try to come up with better ways to solve problems and automate the world.
  • Contribute hands on to software coding/queries at least 2/3 time.
  • You use and quickly learn new technologies and bring forward new ideas.
  • Follow best practices for agile development, DevOps, Continuous Delivery
About You
  • Enjoy staying on top of Big Data
  • Strong SQL/DB query skills and knowledge in Java and Python
  • Experience developing Web applications and/or software solutions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work with a dynamic and awesome multi-skilled technology team.
What makes you shine?

  • Experience with Big Data tools such as Google BigQuery, Hadoop, Spark, etc.
  • Experience with cloud hosting and deployments such as AWS and Google Cloud
  • Server-side coding: databases (sql, nosql), web api
  • You're PASSIONATE about what you do!
  • You like to work hard, but you also like to have FUN at work!!!!
