We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Recruiter. As a Recruiter at Inventive, you will play a crucial role in supporting our recruiting efforts. The ideal candidate would be an aspiring subject matter expert in recruiting; preferably, talent acquisition.

This will be a part-time contract for now, but it could lead to a long-term, ongoing partnership. That said, we are looking for someone who can be a trusted and valuable partner to our Director of Recruiting.

To respect your time and interest, our interview process is three simple steps:

  • 45-minute call with Alyssa McClurken, our Director of Recruiting
  • 30-minute Zoom with James Shaw, our Founder
  • 30-minute Zoom with Andy Siemer, our Founder

Note: We are only accepting Austin-based applications at this time.

Challenges and Opportunities

  • Autonomously execute responsibilities of the full-lifecycle recruiting process
  • Assist with job postings on various job boards and platforms
  • Creatively source and engage active and passive talent online and offline
  • Screen resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates
  • Conduct initial phone screenings and assist with candidate assessments
  • Enthusiastically evangelize Inventive as you interview technical and non-technical candidates
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with candidates and hiring managers
  • Remove hairy bottlenecks that prevent positive and efficient candidate experiences
  • Help with ancillary duties to the interview experience
  • Assist with reference checks and background screenings
  • Maintain applicant tracking system and ensure data accuracy
  • Use comprehensive data to communicate progress, valuable insights; drive informed decisions
  • Provide administrative support to the Recruitment and Operations team as needed

Qualifications And Experience

Experience that’s required (and really important to have):

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 2+ years in a full-lifecycle recruiting role; preferably in a high-growth environment
  • Proven experience recruiting exceptional tech talent
  • Sincere desire to deliver an exceptional candidate experience
  • Enthusiasm for building relationships; placing the right people in the right roles
  • Excellent communication skills; warm, honest, persuasive, and enthusiastic
  • Ability to easily establish credibility and builds trust
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Expertise in adapting to enterprise Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS); we use JazzHR!
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong track record of meeting and exceeding hiring targets
  • Comfortable utilizing a data-driven approach to iterate and continuously improve
  • Sense of humor (yes, it’s a requirement!)

Wildly impressive folks will also have experience with:

  • Previous recruiting or talent acquisition experience at a high-growth tech company
  • Developing strategies to attract, interview, hire, engage, and retain the best talent
  • Proven strategy on how to source top technical talent
  • Influencing and driving recruiting that embraces a culture of diversity and inclusion
  • Curiosity to explore market trends; recruiting KPIs, processes, systems, and tools
  • Ability to strengthen passive relationships; understand “No” is “Not Yet”
