Job Summary
We are looking to expand our Engineering team and are looking for a Frontend Engineer to help with multiple initiatives at ISC. We are looking for passionate, experienced engineer who wants to work in highly collaborative, team environment. The right candidate will have significant experience building highly scalable, responsive web applications using technologies such as React, Node.js, Typescript and Javascript. The developer will be responsible for delivering on the promise of creating next generation application architecture that spans our diverse insurance businesses. You'll build user experiences that engage our brokers, agents, underwriters and all other personas we represent and support, staying ahead of technological innovation and helping us to determine where we go next. You'll also be part of a strong team of designers and engineers whose passion, pace and ideas drive the growth of our business every day.
Position Responsibilities
- Interact with product owners, designers and team members to design and develop products and features that drive the growth of our business, simplify the delivery of our services, and redefine how we engage customers.
- Perform full development life cycle activities including design, development, testing and releases.
- Full-stack web development including front end, business logic, and data access layers.
- Determine key requirements needed to satisfy scalability, security, reuse and maintainability.
- Contribute to and lead the effort to improve our code pipelines to automate, unify and simplify the way we deliver frontend code to production.
- Participate in code reviews, design reviews, demos and other team rituals each sprint.
- Work across functions and teams to determine requirements, needs and opportunities.
- Participate in the execution of our product roadmaps across various parts of the business.
- Maintain high standards, attention to detail, accuracy and completeness.
- 3+ years of software development experience developing responsive Single Page Applications (SPAs).
- Expert level proficiency in React, JavaScript, Typescript, CSS and HTML
- Hands-on experience with state management libraries like Redux
- Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals (ES6+)
- Developing and implementing highly responsive and sharable user interface components using react concepts.
- Strong understanding of web and browser technologies such as web sockets, service workers, LocalStorage, SessionStorage
- Experience with unit and integration testing (Jest, Mocha, Chai, Cypress)
- Troubleshooting UI/web application issues and debugging application codes.
- Mastery in writing well-documented, clean code using best practices that is scalable.
- Extensive experience developing software in an Agile, team-based environment.
- Experience with Git
- Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS is a plus.
- Experience building RESTful web services using Node.js
- Experience with react based frameworks like Next.js is desired.
ISC's salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
National Pay Range
$125,000—$140,000 USD
