About Our Client
Arene's goal is to open vehicle programming to everyone by simplifying vehicle software development and increasing deployment frequency without compromising safety and security. This will create a whole new market of vehicle application developers who, through software, integrate a vehicle into our daily lives in novel ways. Arene aims to significantly improve how vehicles are designed and developed, and we're working closely with Toyota to realize this goal in its next-generation vehicles.
The Arene NA Professional Service team's mission is to support the delivery of Arene and the tools to build, deploy and test vehicle software. This is a growing team working on an early stage product, so the ideal candidate will be ready to roll up their sleeves to work directly with engineering, product and UX teams to address the needs of our customers and partners.
About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Flutter Application Developer with a strong background in UI/UX design to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Flutter UI development along with proficiency in related tools like CMake and FFIGen.
Responsibilities
- Implement complex features and functionalities while ensuring optimal performance.
- Integrate with various APIs and services.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Work closely with UI/UX designers.
- Perform unit and integration testing.
- Assist with debugging and troubleshooting issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Flutter and Dart trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Proven experience in Flutter UI development, with a strong portfolio showcasing mobile applications built using Flutter
- Solid understanding of frontend technologies including the Dart programming language, Flutter framework, and UI/UX design principles
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Preferred Experience
- Experience with a data serializer toolkit, ideally Cap’n Proto
- Experience with Flutter’s integration test library
- Experience with Docker, Bazel, C++, git
- Actual experience specifically in automotive software engineering would be a big plus

Commitment: This is a full-time, 3-month contract position with possible extension, staffed via HireArt and based in Seattle, WA. This role will be remote and open to candidates able to work PST hours. Must have some overlap work with core hours, which are typically between 9AM-5PM PST.
