THE ROLE
Exos is recruiting a Content Writer to help grow Exos' B2B2C end-to-end in-app and in-person coaching experiences through educational, engaging, and service-focused content.
Our virtual coaching platform, the Exos app, connects employees at many of the world’s leading companies with dedicated 1:1 coaches and experts. And it does it while offering up a side of live and on-demand classes, well-being challenges, and holistic programs — all of which, in this role, you’ll work to outline, write, and edit in collaboration with our experts. You’ll also support member communications to increase awareness and engagement with that content.
Meanwhile, Exos’ in-person coaching events invite members to come together for next-level immersive experiences designed to improve team dynamics, executive-level performance skills, and more. And these are not without their own unique content needs. Think: decks, guided journals, cheat-sheets, and even more experiential video and audio content.
The ideal candidate is eager to roll up their sleeves in a fast-paced, start-up environment and deliver Exos methodology, education, and end-to-end coaching to our members. This person will become deeply intertwined with Exos methodology and package it in a way that everyday folks can not only understand, but enjoy and use IRL.
The Content Writer will report to/jam on the regular with the Director of Editorial Strategy. They’ll be remote, with periodic in-office time required - the ideal candidate will be based in either the NYC or Phoenix areas (our two main hubs).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Commit to gaining a deep understanding of Exos methodology, in collaboration with our Performance Innovation Team.
- Interviewing sciencey folks (we call them SMEs, or subject matter experts) and translating world-class methodology into actionable, practical, and personalized editorial.
- Collaborate with expert coaches to leverage their functional knowledge and on-the-ground insights for virtual coaching content.
- Write/edit concise, engaging scripts for video- and audio-based educational and experiential content.
- Write/edit mobile-first, scannable, and service-focused articles on holistic well-being and performance topics.
- Write/edit UX copy as well as member communications (such as in-app notifications, emails, etc.) to get members excited about and engaging with our fab in-app content.
- Build and manage the creation of new, sparkly content through Content Management Systems and company databases.
- Support additional writing projects as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Creative Writing, Marketing, Advertising, or related wordsmithy field.
- A good 4-6 years under your belt working on digital and/or mobile-first content, ideally for a well-being or executive coaching company. Bonus points if it’s been across text, video, and audio.
- A proven track record working with subject matter experts and turning their knowledge into actionable steps for consumers. (And you’ve picked up some expertise of your own in the process.)
- Experience with e-learning/educational content and/or ghost-writing.
- Solid research and interview skills. You know how to ask the right questions and find the answers people need.
- A portfolio of service-based editorial content related to coaching, goal/value explorations, nutrition, exercise, emotional regulation, corporate wellness, or mental performance. Please note that applications without portfolios will not be considered.
- Experience or eagerness to work with Content Management Systems and product management/collaboration tools such as Airtable and Confluence.

Residents of California, Colorado, New York City, and Washington: Per pay transparency requirements, the compensation for this position ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 annually. Pay is dependent on factors including location, specialty, certifications and work experience, as well as other business and organizational needs
