Senior WordPress Developer

Summary
A Senior WordPress Developer is responsible for supporting activities related to website development. This position will participate in regular training and interact with team members to support marketing strategies that will help clients achieve desirable results.
Essential Functions
- Development Activities (WordPress block theming, HubSpot HubL, websites, landing pages, applications)
- Create, and keep updated on a weekly basis detailed web/app development project task breakdowns in Asana, including start dates, due dates, and task assignees
- Performs development-related activities (coding) on tasks, as needed
- Ensures assigned projects are completed to the full scope of sale and within expected timelines and budgets
- Ensures project deliverables comply with the latest SEO & W3C standards
- Ensures projects comply with the latest WCAG accessibility standards, as applicable to the scope of that project
- Code & package code to achieve minimal page load speed times and test page load speed with tools provided (for example: Google and GTMetrix)
- Implement standard and customized user tracking/engagement code and ensure data is being sent to appropriate servers (eg. Google Analytics) as outlined by a tracking specialist.
- Deploy new code to staging and production environments.
- Quality Assurance
- Develops quality assurance standards and processes for development team activities.
- Adheres to quality assurance standards
- Proactively reviews the quality assurance database to ensure systemic issues are not cascaded through to other clients.
- Creates and updates quality measurements to track improvements in products
- Trains team members on quality assurance processes and tasks
- Training / Process improvement
- Developing and iterating on processes, checklists, and plugins to make future development more efficient & scalable
- Keep up with the latest trends and technologies
- Be a resource to help other team members with difficult implementations or solution architecting
- Client Support / Sales Support
- Communicate with clients to learn their needs, set expectations, train, and consult them toward what you believe is in their best interest
Requirements
- Technical web development related skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
- Comprehensive knowledge of WordPress in the context of custom theme and plugin development
- Thorough knowledge of SQL, with the ability to create custom queries
- Thorough knowledge of WCAG 2.1 / website accessibility guidelines
- Thorough knowledge of technical SEO and W3C standards
- General knowledge of web security standards including OWASP Top 10
- Thorough knowledge of website analytical tracking (Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager)
- Comprehensive knowledge of website deployment workflows (production to staging, staging to production, etc)
- Thorough understanding and ability to use git repositories and version control
- Application development related skills
- General knowledge of how to create and consume an API endpoint
- General knowledge of data structures (eg. JSON) and how to traverse them
- General knowledge of HTTP protocols (eg. requests, headers)
- General knowledge of effective team & client communication & workflow
- Ability to communicate professionally
- Ability to set expectations and be reasonably accommodated or otherwise recognize when compromise is required
- Excellent time management skills and strict adherence to deadlines
- Ability to use core workflow systems (eg. Asana, Slack, gSuite, etc..)
- Ability to engage other team members without unduly burdening them or otherwise being disruptive or uncooperative
Required Education & Experience:
- 4 years of experience focused primarily in the field of expertise
Preferred Education & Experience:
- 4 years experience working in a marketing capacity
