Job Description
Forbes Advisor is looking for a Data Analyst to join our growing, fully-remote DPR (digital public relations) team. This person will play an integral role in the brand's ongoing data-driven study program by sourcing and analyzing data sets that can be used to create unique studies on various personal finance topics and economic trends.
The DPR Data Analyst will collaborate with the DPR, Editorial and SEO teams in the production of data-centric studies and data visualizations (infographics, maps, graphics) that will be pitched to relevant media contacts in varying industries and verticals across the U.S. This person will be responsible for ideating, researching, organizing, and making sense of data, which will then be used to create newsworthy articles throughout the year.
About You:
- The ideal candidate will have a strong knack for sorting, analyzing and digesting relevant economic data and survey results.
- Proven experience in creating unique study frameworks, methodologies and ranking criteria using multiple data sources for DPR campaigns throughout the year.Including national and local study angles.
- Takes initiative on finding and accessing new raw data sets.
- Transforms raw data sets into compelling storyline and help designers create meaningful visual illustrations to accompany those stories and guide Editorial on content development.
- Keen ability to identify topics that people are interested in and the media will cover.
- Ability to influence and advance projects in a multi-functional, matrixed environment.
- Experience writing articles driven by data insights.
- Experience visualizing complex topics and data sets.
- Keeps up with industry, research and vertical trends and standard methodologies.
- A team player with great communication skills.
Requirements:
- 3+ years relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of statistics.
- Superior excel skills.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Can take ownership of an article from start to finish.
- Past personal finance/business experience is a major plus.
