We are looking for a Senior QA Manager to join our growing team of QA specialists to manage the processes and people responsible for the quality of our apps across all platforms.
The ideal candidate has a knack for building organizations that investigate and reproduce bugs and usability issues across a variety of surfaces including web, mobile, desktop, and browser extensions. Your teams are the last line of defense for our customers’ most critical data, so candidates must be prepared to make tough calls and establish guidance that balances the need for product quality and feature velocity. You will partner with engineering teams to create a strategy for automated testing during the continuous integration process, and make data-informed testing prioritization decisions. You will also work closely with leaders across the company to address application quality issues and provide the customer perspective throughout the development process.
The right person for the job will apply their exhaustive knowledge of supporting QA teams to ship a high-quality, best-in-industry password manager, while also growing a strong team of QA specialists and leaders.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US. You will be expected to be fully remote, ideally in the Eastern Time Zone.
What we're looking for:
Extensive experience in a QA role, and several years of experience leading an organization, including multiple managers and senior QA specialists.
Experience setting the technical vision for hands-on and automated testing, as well as their roles in continuous integration.
Experience setting the direction for software quality and measuring progress.
Familiarity with testing across multiple platforms including web, mobile, desktop, and browser extensions.
Familiarity with third-party tools used by the 1Password service, such as Stripe, SCIM, Okta (or other enterprise identity providers), and tools like GitLab and Docker.
Strong ability to plan and manage numerous processes, people, and projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and delegation skills.
What you can expect:
Support multiple QA teams, including hiring, coaching and mentoring team members.
Ensure best-in-industry quality level for apps released across all platforms.
Build on existing hands-on testing processes and create the strategy for automated testing in partnership with peer engineering teams.
Build product expertise to identify gaps in quality coverage and work with product teams to address issues at the source.
Establish metrics to assess the quality of our products and ensure the testing environment reflects how people use our products.
Advocate for product quality across engineering organizations and the product development process.
United States-based roles only: Minimum annual salary for this role is $145,000USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
