Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Writing Consultant to join our fintech company on a contract basis. As a Technical Writing Consultant, you will play a crucial role in researching, documenting, and communicating complex financial concepts and software functionalities. Your expertise in technical writing, research, and relevant coding languages will be vital in developing clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation that enables efficient software development and enhances our products' usability.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough research on financial technologies, industry regulations, and complex financial concepts to gather necessary information for technical documentation.
- Collaborate closely with the development team, product managers, and subject matter experts to understand project requirements and software functionalities.
- Create detailed technical specifications, system architecture designs, and API documentation to guide the development team in building financial software solutions.
- Develop comprehensive user guides, release notes, and API documentation that adhere to established style guidelines and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, data scientists, and compliance experts, to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.
- Review and edit existing technical documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously update and improve documentation based on user feedback, changes in financial regulations, or technological advancements.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on documentation to ensure accuracy and usability.
- Stay informed about the latest trends, regulations, and technologies in the fintech industry to enhance your expertise and provide valuable insights to the team.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Technical Writing Consultant or in a similar technical writing role in the fintech industry.
- Strong knowledge and experience in technical writing, research methodologies, and documentation tools.
- Familiarity with financial technologies, such as payment systems, blockchain, trading platforms, or risk management systems.
- Proficiency in relevant coding languages, such as Python, Java, or C++, to understand and communicate technical concepts effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts for various audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize information effectively.
- Experience working in an agile development environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with financial regulations, compliance frameworks, and security protocols in the fintech industry.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, computer science, or a related field is preferred.
