Role Overview

Job Title: Social Media Manager

Location: NYC preferred or surrounding area


About the Role:

We are looking for a stand-out social media strategist to join our growth marketing team. You will develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy to increase our brand awareness and website traffic, as well as grow our audience in newsletter subscriptions.


You should be a natural collaborator who's comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders across editorial, growth, and analytics teams. Organizational and multitasking skills will be key to maintaining publishing workflows, calendars, and schedules. Creativity is also necessary to ensure our marketing strategy is aligned with our brand. A bias to action and flexibility are a must.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day posting on the flagship The Daily Upside and Patent Drop Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.
  • Shape overall social media strategy along with growth and leadership teams to achieve goals.
  • Plan and create original high-quality content across flagship social media accounts.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to grow the social media accounts and target new followers.
  • Liaise across the editorial team to promote and syndicate original content across social channels.
  • Work closely with the design team to maintain brand integrity and a consistent aesthetic.
  • Manage a social media content calendar for various channels, planning and scheduling posts in advance. This includes the copywriting schedule for the partnerships team and interfacing with brand partners to communicate on copy direction, strategy, and results.
  • Help manage reporting, data collection, and third-party tools associated with social media accounts.


Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as a social media strategist or manager. Minimum 2 years in media.
  • Enthusiasm for and strong knowledge of current business and financial news.
  • Strong research and professional writing ability.
  • Professional-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (including Premiere) and Canva-Experience with third-party Instagram management/publication tools, like Later, DashHudson, and Sprout Social.
  • A background in making data-driven decisions and tracking analytics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A game-for-anything attitude, a can-do mindset, and the ability to thrive in collaborative environments.
