The Business Intelligence Analyst will support eMoney’s continuing progress towards becoming a data-driven organization. The candidate will work with the cross-functional data and analytics team, subject matter experts, and system vendors to define and undertake analytics projects that provide data-supported answers to key business issues and support the data governance program.
As a member of the data and analytics team, the candidate will participate in identifying data sources, defining and coding business logic and algorithms for key measurements, ensuring data cleanliness of existing data, creating solutions for data operations moving forward, and building dashboards and visual representations to be presented to business owners, stakeholders, and leadership. They will meet with internal clients and stakeholders to identify and prioritize data initiatives. They will also hone presentation skills by creating stories about the data, documenting feedback, requirements and showcasing solutions, completing the full project lifecycle (design inception through delivery).
In addition, the candidate will team up to challenge existing thinking, working on iterative arrays of data sets and controls. Initiatives will include finding data anomalies, defining and implementing change to mitigate the anomalies and building trust in the data across the organization. The Business Intelligence Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders and business sponsors as well as the application development team to drive change throughout the organization.
Responsibilities and Duties - Partner with cross-functional, operational teams to develop quantitative models and analyze business hypotheses, informing data driven decisions to optimize and increase productivity and revenue as well as improving the client experience
- Measure the effectiveness of strategies and business decisions to deliver actionable insights that drive growth
- Fast-track data governance initiatives and clean-up
- Measure the success of data operations in all departments
- Report results of analysis through documentation and presentations suitable for audiences of various backgrounds and needs
- Work with the Data and Analytics team in communicating complex analytical solutions, data operations, data relationships and results and their business impacts to multiple business partners and stakeholders, through superior data visualization and storytelling skills
- Work with the Data and Analytics team to leverage and integrate, normalize, and provide governance of disparate data sources including enterprise systems, internal and third-party applications, and customer data
- Maintain metadata dictionaries to assist in the governance of metrics and flow of data between systems
- Generate, modify, and test hypotheses that explain observed results
- Contribute to the design and deployment of the eMoney data science program, laying the foundation for consistency and actionable insights across the organization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline – math, statistics, data and analytics preferred or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in business analytics, data engineering, business intelligence or related field
Skills
- Experience using, writing and optimizing SQL queries in a business environment
- Experience with data governance, with an emphasis on developing and implementing data standards, policies, practices, and procedures that lead to improved data integrity
- Experience with business analysis, statistical modeling, and presenting insights via visualization tools (e.g. Looker, Tableau)
- Ability to create new queries or modify existing reports or queries to help identify business or data operations issues and solutions for data and analytics initiatives and data quality
- Identifies and utilizes appropriate analytic methods and specialized tools to generate insights, answer the business questions and fulfill project objectives
- Working knowledge of statistical analysis for development of variance exception logic
- Comfortable preparing and participating in the delivery of presentations and action recommendations that communicate complex material in layman's terms, guiding business owners on the interpretation, implications and use of analytic results.
