This is high volume, customer service environment. You'll need to be efficient, productive and thorough dealing with our members over the phone.

You also must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evening hours.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday.

Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8 hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8am - 5pm.

It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Responsibilities and Duties

+ Manage administrative intake of members

+ Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and/or providers

+ Process incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census roles

+ Assist the clinical staff with setting up documents/triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review

+ Handle resolution/inquiries from members and/or providers.

Required Qualifications:

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ 2+ years of customer service experience

+ 2+ years of experience working within the health care Industry or with health care insurance

+1+ year of experience in an administrative (office) support role

+ Experience with MS Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents) and Outlook (email and calendar management)

+ You will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's US Telecommuting Policy

+ If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the Protect Well mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener.

When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting

+ Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes

+ Experience working in a call center UnitedHealth Group is an essential business.

+ Onsite social distancing and increased sanitization measures for employees who have been welcomed back to our offices

+ Fully cover the COVID-19 healthcare costs for our employees

+ Employees who self-identify as high risk or who live with someone who is high risk have been asked to remain working from home.
