We offer end-to-end specialty-specific solutions from practice management, through EMR to Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) that maximize office interactions, patient visits, collections and reimbursements.
The Legal Operations Manager will be responsible for the day to day operations of the Legal Department and support and report to the General Counsel. The person in this role provides critical infrastructure, which enables the Legal organization to meet its business priorities. The four primary functions for which this person is responsible are Technology, Finance, Communications and Administration.
Responsibilities and Duties - Work with the General Counsel to ensure the Legal Department’s workflow is aligned to priorities.
- Drive end-to-end project management for high-priority initiatives, driving coordination across Legal and business partner teams.
- Analyze current state processes, identify issues, and design and implement streamlined improvements to policies and processes requiring cross-functional Legal coordination, input and/or approval to increase overall efficiency.
- Identify and implement solutions (and work with existing systems) to streamline operations of the Legal Department (manage design, rollout, and training for new tools, systems, and processes).
- Identify, create, and improve processes for workflow requests for the Legal Department, focusing on efficiency, scale and operational excellence (e.g. manage incoming requests for legal review and advice, answer questions from the business about working with Legal).
- Define and enforce processes and policies to manage outside counsel usage and spend (including RFPs, restructuring of fee arrangements); manage Alternative Legal Service Providers; work proactively with Finance and Accounting teams on budget and spend; assist in implementation of, and ongoing administration of an e-billing system.
- Develops and maintains a technology architecture and strategy for the department; works with IT to choose and implement applications; ensures systems are optimized; manages vendor relationships.
- Supports General Counsel in budgeting, forecasting of department budget and coordination with Finance.
- Implements the intranet strategy and Knowledge Management program, including the reuse of data, proper document management and creation of self-help tools.
- Develops and manages effective change management process for all program and system implementations.
- Supports the General Counsel in the department’s communications strategy within the legal department and with business stakeholders.
- Design, track and report on Legal department metrics to inform decision making and support senior leadership in developing operations strategies and best practices.
- Responsible for Legal Operations benchmarking initiatives, including spend analysis.
- Manages office administration and the support infrastructure for Legal Department activities and team building events.
Other Responsibilities:
- Manage department intranet, keeping information up to date, including department policies.
- Acts as liaison for IT, Human Resources, Finance and Facilities and performs space management.
- Perform special projects and responsibilities assigned by the General Counsel.
Skills & Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- At least 5 years of business experience with progressively increasing responsibilities and accomplishments.
- Experience working with senior executives.
- Capacity to think strategically to identify issues and develop long-term solutions.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and manage major projects to successful completion.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative to be a self-starter.

Desired:
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, IT or Management.
- Law department or law firm experience.
