Social Editor (Finance)

Our client, an online media and digital advertising company, is actively looking for a Social Editor o join their team! This is a remote position.
***This is an initial 1 year contract, that may extend or convert at any time***
Responsibilities:
- Manage, ideate and program major social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok along with other emerging platforms
- Knowledge of content framing, packaging and demonstrated success in driving traffic and new audiences via social platforms to O&O sites as well as growing audience on social media platforms
- Quickly optimize and post breaking news on multiple social platforms
- Stays up to date on current industry trends, evolving strategies and works constantly with editorial and video teams on ensuring all types of social content are following current best practices
- Help conceptualize and execute original video and live streaming ideas for social platforms
- Ideate unique call-to-action campaigns or other creative strategies to promote content and engage with users on social platforms
- Identify stories to pitch to editorial and social teams
- Create graphics for social platforms
- Monitor performance analytics
- Work with video producers as needed
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years running a social media account for a newsroom or content organization/brand
- Understand and execute social best practices in all aspects across all major platforms (scheduling posts, programming video, content promotion, etc.)
- Strong writing skills and voice
- Strong grammar and communication skills
- Edit video for social clips and publishing live streams on social platforms
- Optimize stories and editorial content for a social audience
- Ability to produce/edit video and create graphics for social platforms using Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- A huge fan of all things social media and latest trends (finance industry experience preferred!)
- Someone who enjoys engaging with the social audience and loves to build the conversation around our content
- Someone who can work a flexible schedule in accordance with breaking news and events.
- Demonstrate success in news judgement. Identify content that resonates on specific social platforms and grow audiences both in terms of volume and demographic diversity
The Offer
•Competitive Pay: Up to $32/hour, DOE
