Our client, a leader in the Education industry, y is looking for a Technical Writer for an initial 6 month contract assignment with the potential to extend.
This person will provide technical writing support to advance the projects strategic and tactical interests of the Ontario Health Data Platform. He/she will
Write, review and coordinate living documents regarding operational and user support materials, as well as policies and procedures
In addition, this person will:
Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge and collaborations with all partners to ensure effective and up to date communication.
Working with the Centre of Advanced Computing, you will bring coordination, and technical knowledge to the development of the policy and procedures when it pertains to the OHDP-Q platform.
You will work closely with the technical lead and platform engineers to obtain in-depth technical comprehension of functionality and descriptions.
Advantages
This work can be done REMOTELY from anywhere in Canada as long as the person is available during core business hours ((Monday-Friday),
from approximately 8:30am to 4:30pm EST)
Responsibilities
Deliverables and Objectives
Coordinate, write and review documentation, including process and user documents.
- Coordinate, write and review Visio diagrams, including network diagrams, data-flow diagrams, activity diagrams and event-driven process chains.
- Maintain a high degree of knowledge/expertise in the use of computer operating systems, software applications, computer networking, and other aspects of information technology.
Update, share and communicate updated version of documents.
Prepare, equip and support individuals to successfully adopt change management in order to drive organizational success and outcomes.
Prepare reports in support of Regulatory Compliance activities
Perform background preparation, fact-checking and translation of technical information into accurate text that is understandable, readable, and appropriate to the audience and medium.
Review and edit documents to correct for structure, grammar, style, and persuasiveness.
Provide project management support, including meeting minutes.
Contribute to data collection processes with relation to the OHDP-Q platform
Qualifications
Experience and Qualifications
To effectively address these deliverables, the following work experience and qualification are required:
University degree in Engineering or Technical communications, English or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a technical writing role;
Experience with preparation of individual and multi-author technical documents in a university or public sector environment is preferred.
Proficiency at written documents and procedures is required.
Experience in a research-driven academic environment is preferred.
Ability to work independently.
Capable of maintaining multiple tasks and reports as needed.
Very strong analytical and problem-solving / troubleshooting skills to understand problems or assist in systems design / development as well as research solutions for problems that may have no readily available support.
Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills to interact with both technical and non-technical staff and clients at all levels.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
